What it means
Current is leaking from the charge roller, so the drum cannot be charged evenly.
Common causes
- Damaged or dirty charge roller
- Scratched drum
- High-voltage supply or contact fault
What you can safely try
- 1Switch the machine off, wait 30 seconds and switch it on again — note whether the code comes back.
- 2Remove the drum / imaging unit and re-seat it firmly — check for loose toner or paper dust around it.
- 3Damp rooms make these codes worse; keep the machine away from AC vents and wet walls.
- 4Take a photo of the display and note the machine model and its meter reading before you call.
