Ricoh error code
SC 101Exposure lamp error
🔧 Needs an engineer
What it means
The scanner did not detect enough light from the exposure lamp when it read the white reference.
Common causes
- Exposure lamp / LED failed
- Lamp stabiliser or cable fault
- Dirty white plate or mirrors
What you can safely try
- 1Switch the machine off, wait 30 seconds and switch it on again — note whether the code comes back.
- 2Make sure the scanner lock (if your model has one) is released and nothing is resting on the glass or document feeder.
- 3Clean the scanner glass and the narrow feeder glass strip with a soft, dry cloth.
- 4Take a photo of the display and note the machine model and its meter reading before you call.
⚠️ If the code comes back after a restart, stop using the machine and call an engineer — running it on can damage more parts.
